Escape the hustle — join Jody and Laura to rejuvenate for five days of yoga, sand and sun. Travel with us to the beautiful, private one-mile beachfront retreat center and turtle sanctuary, Playa Viva, on Mexico’s Pacific Coast.

There will be two yoga classes per day on an outdoor yoga platform overlooking the ocean: A morning vigorous vinyasa led by Jody, and an evening slow flow/restorative led by Laura. We will also offer two workshops during the course of our stay.

You will stay in luxurious, ocean view casitas, eat three yummy meals per day (plus snacks ☺) and have plenty of free time to relax, hang on the beach, swim, get a massage, go on an excursion, etc.

Playa Viva is a sustainable boutique hotel just 35 minutes south of Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa International Airport. Its nearly 200 acres supports a stunning array of wildlife, includes an estuary, an Aztec archeological site, and a turtle sanctuary. Rooms and Prices

  • All casitas have beautiful, unobstructed views of the ocean.
  • Prices listed are the per person rate.
  • Rooms are for two people per room. If you want a private room or to add more occupants, please contact either Jody or Laura.

Studio: $1450 (2 available)
Studios have either two single beds or a king bed upon request. Studios are part of the Four Bedroom Casita (2 Deluxe Suites + 2 Studios). These are moderately sized rooms that adjoin the Deluxe Suites, which can be rented separately. The private bathrooms for Studios are downstairs from the bedroom area. There are two Studios, with two people to each Studio, for a total of four spots available.

Deluxe Suite: $1650 (2 available)
A spacious room with a king bed and a trundle bed that can sleep two. Deluxe Suites are part of the Four Bedroom Casita (2 Deluxe Suites + 2 Studios). Deluxe Suites have private bath and share a large balcony with the other Deluxe Suite that serves as a large outdoor living room and comes with a couch, chairs and a table. There are two Deluxe Suites, with two people to each Suite, for a total of four spots available.

Queen EcoCasita: $1900 (2 available)
The one-bedroom, self-contained EcoCasitas comes with a queen bed, and a private bathroom on the same level. It also features large shutter doors that may be left open to take in the view or remain closed for privacy. There are two Queen Casitas, with two people to each Queen in a shared bed, for a total of four spots available.

King EcoCasita: $2000 (3 available)
King EcoCasitas are stand-alone structures with a king bed (or two singles), and two single day beds that can either serve as comfortable couches for lounging or additional beds for more guests in the room. These rooms have a bathroom on the same level and come with shutter doors that completely open to the beach or close for solitude. There are three King Casitas, with two people to each King, for a total of six spots available.

Private Casita

Private Casita: $2250 (1 available)
This is our most sequestered casita. In addition to a king bed and a substantial bathroom and dressing area, the balcony is furnished with a couch, a table, and chairs where you can watch the sunset. There is one Private Casita, with a total of two people in the Private.

Tree House

Tree House: $2350 (1 available)
This casita is also very secluded and sits among the palm trees, which act as living “piers”.  The tree house floats 6 feet above the ground and is outfitted with a king bed that can be divided into two singles, and a small lounge area that contains an in-floor hammock. The luxurious bathroom is in the private bathhouse located down a set of stairs from the main sleeping area. There is one Tree House, which accommodates a total of two people.

Basic Daily Schedule

7-9a: Pranayama/meditation and ‘Wake-It-Up’ practice w/Jody
9-10a: Breakfast
10-2: Free time/excursions/massage/beach time etc.
2-3p: Lunch
4:30- 6p: workshop (2 of these, otherwise this is also free time)
7-8p: Dinner
8:30-9:30p Chill/restorative w/Laura

Cancellation Policy

If you must cancel, then of course we understand, though we will be sad.

  • Cancellation by August 15 – Full refund.
  • Cancellation after August 15 – No refund unless we can resell your lodging.
